Babs Dial a bus

Babs Dial a Bus offers a transport service for the Elderly and Disabled who aren't able to utilise public transport.  The service visits Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty, Buckie, Portgordon, Fochabers and Keith.

The team at Babs run tours as well for local community groups e.g. North East Sensory Services as well as support with shopping and attending doctors appointments.

Buckie Community Theatre

Buckie Community Theatre is a newly refreshed not-for-profit group (with a new name) which is open free of charge to children (age 9 upwards) and teenagers, as well as male and female adults. Acting and singing rehearsals occur every Monday night from our refurbished premises at Logies Lane, near Buckie's harbour west. We perform musicals and pantomines each year, and can take our theatre into other local communities. Contact Glen or Kevin M 07901 918 895.

Deskford and District Community

Deskford is a small village and parish community approx 4 miles south of Cullen. Despite having a small population, it is vibrant, and the Deskford and District Community Association exists to maintain the community centre buildings and promote community spirit. In recent times, there have been a wide range of activities at the centre : Burns Supper; Quiz Nights; Discos; Parties; Annual Flower Show; Coffee mornings; Heritage evenings; and even a wedding reception. Regular activities include Indoor Bowling; Badminton; Crafts; SWRI; Church of Scotland; Wine Club (see photo); and Belly Dancing!

Moray Reach Out is a CHARITY and Social Enterprise which supports and provides training opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and those recovering from mental health problems is going from strength to strength.


We are grateful to Buckie Radio for the opportunity to tell you more about us and keep you up to date with what is happening in our projects.  First, a little background information.

First established in Buckie in 1996 and incorporated in 2001, Moray Reach Out (MRO) has four different projects which all help build the self-confidence of its trainees.
